You may have heard about a separate proposed agreement to reform the First Nations Child and Family Services Program, which was voted down during an Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly on October 17, 2024.

This separate proposed settlement and decision has no impact on the compensation available under the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement.
