Annual interest of 1.75 per cent on Base Compensation is paid from the Interest Reserve Fund to Approved Claimants in the following Classes:  

  • Removed Child Class Claimants who were placed off reserve with non-family between January 1, 2006, and March 31, 2022 (the CHRT Period) and their corresponding Approved Caregiving Parents or Caregiving Grandparents  
  • Kith Child Class Claimants who were placed off reserve with non-family between January 1, 2006, and March 31, 2022 (the CHRT Period) and their corresponding Approved Caregiving Parents or Caregiving Grandparents  
  • Jordan’s Principle Class Claimants and Jordan’s Principle Family Class Claimants  

Interest accrual starts when the associated Child was removed from home or experienced a delay, denial or service gap and ends on January 11, 2024, the Settlement implementation date.
