The first Claims Period for the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement opened on March 10, 2025. First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement
The Federal Court has approved the Settlement Agreement and the Claims Process for the first two Classes, the Removed Child Class and the Removed Child Family Class. Compensation is not yet available. The Claims Period will open on March 10, 2025.

All Classes in the Settlement Agreement
Nine Classes are included in this Settlement. The Claims Period is open for the Removed Child Class and the Removed Child Family Class. Claimants who may be eligible for more than one Class will have to submit separate Claim Forms when the Claims Period opens for each Class.

The Federal Court approval hearing for the first Claims Process for the Removed Child and Removed Child Family Classes will take place on June 19, 2024, at 9:30 am EDT.You can watch the proceedings, which will be livestreamed by the Federal Court of Canada on Zoom. Registration is required.
National survey launches to gather insight from Class Members
The Administrator is gathering feedback from Class Members through a national survey to understand what is known about the Settlement and the resources and supports available to them, and to learn more about how they would like to receive information.
